A screw type pot dropper uses a scrolling jaw fabricated from nylon which is made to fit the outer rim of the pot or tub. When this is turned it allows the pot to move downwards or at an angle until it is released from the bottom of the scroll.

The speed of release can be adjusted, and the pots can be dispensed on a timed interval basis or by the reception of a pneumatic or electronic signal from another source or a sensor.
